Hello fellow ManaCubesters, it's JuanitoG here to bring you an updated list of tips/tricks on players who are struggling to get builder rank D, or for new players who don't know where to start. Without further ado.

DO NOT DO:
Here are a few tips on what NOT to do.
  • Do NOT submit empty plots, as they will not be graded.
  • Do NOT submit plots with parkour, RP's, pixel art, or 3D statues as they will also not be graded.
  • Do NOT bug staff to take a look at your submission, we will get to it in a timely matter, usually within 24 hours or less.
  • Do NOT submit plots with more than 2 helpers as they won't be graded.
  • Do NOT copy builds from YouTube, or any other players plot, as it will be auto rejected.
DO:
Here are a few tips on what TO do.
  • DO build your plots with passion and creativity, those factors are what make a build amazing.
  • DO patiently wait for your plot to be graded.
  • DO read the rejection message if you are rejected, it will help you!
  • DO review over the submission rules which can be found here before submitting.
  • DO ask questions if you don't understand something!
Tips for your builds:
Here are some tips that will be explained in further detail to help assist you in building a great plot, and getting a builder rank!

Planning out your plot:
This is a very CRITICAL step that many builder seem to just miss out! One of the first things you should do if your going for a graded build, you must plan your plot out! Sketching a quick rough draft of what you want your plot to look like, will help you out in the long run. You need to map out what/where you want things ex:I want the mountain to cover half my left plot and be 35 blocks high). Try making it as detailed as possible and you will find yourself making less errors and your plot will look much more planned out.

Terraforming:
This is a must if you want your build to get graded. A house in the middle of a plot with nothing around it will not get you a grade. Add some mountains/terrain (See SirCracker Guide here) even adding some custom trees will add a effect spawned in trees can't. Adding a simple pond/river adds a whole new ambiance to your overall feeling of your plot, and will make it look more appealing. Also trying terraforming by hand, it just isn't the same if you add world edited spheres in(Although some very experienced builders can). Terraforming by hand adds a different look/block placement that worldedit simply can't do!

Structures:
Structures are the other 50/25% part of your build! It is very important that you have varied structures, to help tie into your build. A beautiful terrain will mean nothing without a house, adding stuff such as a rocky island in the water, or adding a boat in a river. Will help tie in everything in your plot making it look amazing! :D

Little details:
Little details are the little things in a build that make a build over the top! Adding something as red stone torches in a cave, or adding logs near a tree, little things like that bring your plot to a whole new level! They really bring out your creativity and you craftsmanship to your build!

Asking/Advice:
Asking for advice for more experienced builders is the best way to learn. Ask someone who's made it to B if your aiming for that B rank. They can give you tips and tricks on how to get there, if they are really nice, they might let you see the plot that was graded that rank that'd you like. Just remember don't copy use it for inspiration! You'll never know if you don't ask!

Finishing it up!
This is when you start to wrap everything up and prepare to submit it. You add anything else that you see you need to add, and you finish building. You can also ask players on their opinion of your plot, and what things they think you need to make before submitting. Once your ready, /submit and /confirm to submit your plot!

Once you have submitted your plot please wait at least 24 hours before asking staff to look at it. We are busy and don't appreciate players asking us over and over to take a look at their plot.

Here are the ManaCube Grade Requirements:
[D] -> ->Minimal terrain/no terrain -> basic structures with little amounts of depth(but still some slabs/stairs present, not just a flat wall)

[D+] -> Minimum terraforming ->Minimum variety in structures (may still be blocky) ->Simple theme

[C] ->Moderate terraforming ->decent theme->variety and overall style in structures -> logic behind placement(For example you would not have a pine forest in the middle of a desert)->must go above and beyond D+ (Add heads,paths,etc)->handmade trees

[C+] -> Moderate to advanced terraforming ->theme must make sense as a whole -> builds must have a clear variety -> logic behind placement->extra details that go above and beyond C range (multi-level terrain, etc)->handmade trees

[B] ->Advanced terraforming->must have an advanced theme-> builds have to have a certain amount of depth and layering->handmade trees

[B+]-> Advanced terrain-> Advanced theme -> builds must have a certain amount of depth and layering -> must go above and beyond with the details of the plot (for example in a summer plot would add sunflowers, bees, etc)->handmade trees

[A]->Must be at least a 2x2 plot-> Extremely advanced terrain-> extremely detailed builds-> go above and beyond with the details of the plot->complex and thought out theme -> advanced theme->handmade trees

[A+] ->Must be at least a 2x2 plot-> Extremely advanced terrain-> extremely detailed builds->complex and thought out theme ->above and beyond to make the theme overall believable->handmade trees

NOTE: Thanks to @IIChristianII for making theses requirements!

Please leave feedback, as it's greatly appreciated!

I really liked the extensive detail in this thread. I am not a very good builder and if I ever tried to get a graded plot on creative I would be sure to look at this. Thanks!
