Hello All,

During Season 1 of Olympus I tried recording everything I could about Seller Minions.
EDIT: Some things have changed in Season 2, but this guide should still give you a solid understanding of how Seller Minions work in-game.

Disclaimer: This content may or may not be 100% accurate to the game at any time and is especially dependent on whether or not I regularly update this content. To date, various details about minions have changed from Season 1 to Season 2, some of which may or may not be reflected in edits to this work. The purpose of this guide is to give the reader an understanding of how Seller Minions work in-game. And lastly, if something happens in-game that is not covered in this guide or is contradicted by this guide, the guide is wrong or out of date.

1. What is a Seller Minion
When residing in your inventory, a Seller Minion takes on the appearance of a Dragon Egg, however when you hover over it, it displays information about your Seller Minion, including the owner, the minion's health, and the minion's hunger.

A Seller Minion is a stationary model figure of your own character that typically fits within the space of a single block, but if there are TPS issues can stand to be two blocks tall.

Seller Minions will sell all sell-able items within any chests within their specified radius of activity for as long as they are alive (i.e. health is above 0/100). A variation of this description can be seen in Figure 1.

Foreign Seller Minion.PNG

Figure 1. A stack of three Seller Minions in my inventory. Notice that the Minion Type, Health, Hunger, and Current Owner are all specified here.

Mini Seller Minion Floating.PNG

Figure 2. A Seller Minion in its normal single block form. This Seller Minion was placed on a block that was later removed, demonstrating that Seller Minions can float.

Seller Minion in Glass.PNG

Figure 3. A Seller Minion in its normal single block form. This Seller Minion was placed on glass, and then another block of glass was placed where it was standing, encasing it in glass. This serves no practical purpose and is only aesthetic.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. How to Use a Seller Minion

To place a Seller Minion, simply right click the seller minion on the ground where you would like it to be stationed.

After placing the Seller Minion, you should see a message in Server Chat to confirm that your minion has been placed.

Placing Seller Minion.PNG

Figure 4. The notification that you should receive in Server Chat upon successfully placing your Seller Minion.

Once your Seller Minion is in place, it will automatically begin to sell valid items if they are available and within range.

If you happen try placing your Seller Minion on the side of a block, you will end up placing the minion either on top of that block, or inside the block on top of the one you just clicked on. This does not cause harm to the Seller Minion.

Seller Minion in Stone.PNG

Figure 5. This is a Seller Minion encased in stone bricks because I tried placing the minion on the side of the lower block. This is perfectly safe for the minion, and to remove it from its prison, simply break the block it is stuck in.

To pick up your Seller Minion, simply hold <shift> and then <right-click> on the Seller Minion and it should appear back in your inventory like in Figure 1.

Upon successfully picking up your Seller Minion, it should reappear in your inventory and you should receive confirmation in Server Chat.

Minion Pick-Up.PNG

Figure 6. The message you should receive in Server Chat to confirm that you have successfully picked up your Seller Minion.

Side Note: If the Seller Minion in your inventory does not list you as the Current Owner, all you need to do is place the minion and pick it back up again and it should show you as the Current Owner.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. GUI Pop-Up

To access the GUI Pop-Up that allows you to control the finer aspects of your Seller Minion, simply <right-click> on the minion and you should be prompted with a menu.

Seller Minion Radius_LI (2).jpg

Figure 7. The GUI Pop-Up appears as like a small chest over your own inventory. Notice how it is labeled as Seller Minion in the upper left corner.

1. Health

To see the remaining Health of your minion, hover over the golden apple in the upper left corner of the Seller Minion GUI as seen in Figure 7.

Seller Minion Health.PNG

Figure 8. The view when you hover over the golden apple in the Seller Minion GUI. Notice that if your minion's Hunger Points run out, your minion will begin to lose one Health Point for each selling cycle. If you are selling items very often, this could rapidly drain the Seller Minion to death. Note that healing for one Health Point can be expensive at $50,000 per Health Point healed.

EDIT:
A minion that has died will disappear and be lost forever.

2. Food

The next icon to the right of the golden apple in Figure 7, is a cooked beef icon to represent your minion's food level.

Seller Minion Food.PNG

Figure 9. The view when you hover over the cooked beeficon in the Seller Minion GUI. Notice that each time the minion sells something, it will lose one hunger point, and when the hunger reaches 0/20, the minion will begin to lose Health Points. Also important, is the fact that the Seller Minion only eats cooked foods.

Try to ignore the listed Favorite Foods of the Seller Minion.

To my knowledge, there is no way you could possibly acquire fish or golden apples fast enough to feed your minion.

What should work as food instead, is cooked meats, however I found that this was not always true since mine would eat cooked beef but not cooked mutton.

My advice would be to see what meat your minion will eat, and then produce a lot of that meat.

3. Feeding your Seller Minion

There are two ways to feed your Seller Minion, manually and automatically.

To feed your Seller Minion manually, simply <right-click> on it with a piece of food that it will eat, like cooked beef, and you should receive a confirmation message in Server Chat.

Manual Feeding Message.PNG

Figure 10. Messages in Server Chat confirming that my minion ate the cooked beef and gained a Hunger Point.

END of Part 1 because you can't have more than 10 screenshots....

Part 2

If your minion already has full Hunger Points, you will receive an error message in Server Chat.

Minion Hunger Full.PNG

Figure 11. Error message received if you try manually feeding your Seller Minion when it is already full.

In order to automatically feed your minion, direct yourself to the fourth item from the upper left of the minion's GUI Pop-Up, which should be a chest.

Seller Minion Food Chest False_LI.jpg

Figure 12. The view of the Food Chest icon in the Seller Minion GUI. The default state for the Currently Linked field is false, since you have not yet linked the minion with a food chest.

To link your food chest to your Seller Minion, simply click on the Food Chest icon and you should receive a message telling you to <shift> <right-click> on the chest you want to link your minion to.

Minion Chest Linking Message.PNG

Figure 13. The message you receive in Server Chat when you commence the linking process of your Seller Minion to a food chest.

After receiving this message, find your food chest and <shift> <right-click> on it to link it to the minion.

If there are less than 23 block distances separating your selected chest and the minion, you should receive a confirmation message in Server Chat that the chest has been linked to your minion.

Minion Link Successful Message.PNG

Figure 14. Confirmation message that the chest has been successfully linked with your Seller Minion.

If the chest you selected is out of range of the Seller Minion you will receive an error message in Server Chat and you should reposition either the chest or your minion.

Chest Too Far Away Error.PNG

Figure 15. Error message to let you know that the food chest you are trying to link to your Seller Minion is too far away.

After successfully linking a food chest to your minion, the Currently Linked flag in the GUI for the food chest icon should read true.

Seller Minion Food Chest True.PNG

Figure 16. The linked status for the food chest to the Seller Minion is now true.

It is highly advisable that you set up an automatic grinder, such as a lava and cow grinder, to feed cooked meat into your linked food chest.

Since your Seller Minion will consume one food item every two times it sells, the minion can chew through quite a bit of food in a relatively short amount of time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Sell Messages

Seller Minions are configured to by default, send out a sell message each time they sell something.

Example of Sell Messages.PNG

Figure 17. Example of Sell Messages sent out by a Seller Minion.

To toggle Sell Messages on or off, direct yourself to the third icon from the top left in the Seller Minion GUI Pop-Up, which should be a piece of paper.

Seller Minion Sell Messages.PNG

Figure 18. The view when checking whether or not Sell Messages are active. Notice that the Activated flag is by default set to true.

Since the Sell Messages are by default set to true, you can turn them off by clicking on the Sell Messages icon, however this is inadvisable due to how satisfying it is to see your minion selling so much stuff.

Sell Messages can also let you know if someone is actually AFK for you or if your minion is encountering some glitch in selling stuff.

5. Directions to Face

This section pertains to the next four, head icons to the right of the chest icon.

Each of these heads represent which way your minion will face in relation to the Minecraft world compass.

Seller Minion Direction NORTH.PNG

Figure 19. Click this icon to make your Seller Minion face NORTH.

Seller Minion Direction SOUTH.PNG

Figure 20. Click this icon to make your Seller Minion face SOUTH.

PART 3

Seller Minion Direction EAST.PNG

Figure 21. Click this icon to make your Seller Minion face EAST.

Seller Minion Direction WEST.PNG

Figure 22. Click this icon to make your Seller Minion face WEST.

Note that the direction your minion faces has no bearing on how well it functions and that the direction your minion faces is purely for aesthetic.

6. Radius of Influence

For this part, direct yourself to the icon in the upper right corner of the Seller Minion GUI Pop-Up, which should be an arrow.

Seller Minion Radius_LI (3).jpg

Figure 23. The result of hovering over the arrow icon in the Seller Minion GUI Pop-Up. Notice that the Max and Min range is set to 1.

This part of the Seller Minion was very confusing to me at first, mainly due to the instructions that I could increase or decrease the radius even though the Max and Min radii were both set to 1.

As it turns out, you can't modify this radius, but it is still plenty large, affecting a 3x3x3 volume.

Seller Minion Radius of Activity.PNG

Figure 24. A visual representation of the area in which the Seller Minion can sell stuff. Any valid items in chests that are at least some part within the region where there is pink glass will be sold.

Example of Chests Within Seller Minion Radius.PNG

Figure 25. A visual representation of a valid configuration of chests and a Seller Minion that will result in valid items being sold from both chests.

As you can see, the Seller Minion has the potential to service multiple chests by itself.

7. Suits for your Minion

Another purely aesthetic feature of Seller Minions, is the ability to change their wardrobe.

In the bottom left corner of the GUI Pop-Up for the Seller Minion, you can click on what should be a leather tunic to open up another, cosmetics menu.

Seller Minion Change Suit.PNG

Figure 26. In the Seller Minion GUI, clicking this icon will send you to the Suits Inventory to change your minion's skin.

Minion Hulk Suit_LI.jpg

Figure 27. Hulk option for a minion skin.

Minion Iron Man Suit_LI.jpg

Figure 28. Iron Man option for a minion skin.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. More Useful Information

You can only have one Seller Minion placed per person.

If you have already placed one Seller Minion on any plot anywhere, if you try placing another on any plot anywhere, you will receive and error message in Server Chat.

Max Number of Seller Minions Placed.PNG

Figure 29. Error received in Server Chat when you try placing more than one Seller Minion.

On the bright side, if you employ the use of alternate Minecraft accounts, or alts, you could have them place additional Seller Minions for you, although they would then be making money and not you.
----------------------
You cannot break Seller Minions by hitting them, and I think that they are resistant to all other forms of abuse as well, but I cannot be certain.

All in all, to remove them you have to be the current owner of the Seller Minion and use the <shift> <right-click> method.

If you try removing someone else's Seller Minion, even if it is on your own plot, you will receive and error in Server Chat.

my grinder, just like your old. Mobs fall down and die collector should pick it up and into a chest w a seller minion attached
They might be bugged.

For a while when I was first figuring out how to use the minions, seller minions would not sell meat, and then Dacon fixed that.
I'm not sure what was going on, but those items might have needed to be manually added to some list.

Something similar might be going on with your collector minion.
Collector minions don't pick up items that you can't sell, meaning it won't pick up stone brick for you.
What that also means, is that if the mobs drops aren't being picked up by your minion, they might need to get fixed personally by Dacon.

I would test the minion out with some of the items that it would pick up in season 1, like raw pork, and if that doesn't work, submit a support ticket.
If it does pick up raw pork, but still not the other mob drops, submit a support ticket.
