You need a rank. but if you have one you do /nick (nickname), and then you the color codes
to use the colors, do & and then the letter/number of the one you want. You need to win the bold/italics per from legendary chests to use the special fonts, and the &k cool one is disabled.
for example, if I wanted my name to be SSM_GOD I would type &6SS&eM_G&4OD
if you have trouble using the codes, I'm sure someone can help you in-game
